Stroke care is ever evolving with huge advances in both medicines and procedures for patients. Since 2017, North Bristol NHS Trust has led a specialised acute stroke centre, treating patients from across the West of England, and is currently the third busiest service in the country. The stroke service is forever growing, with new research trials being carried out to improve treatment options for our stroke patients. Thrombolysis and thrombectomy are exciting treatment options which can be offered to many patients at North Bristol NHS Trust. Our talk will provide an insight into the Stroke specialty and our role as a regional centre for the Thrombectomy service.
